hot in Greece this month! We made it back safely and everyone had a great trip. The girls noted that highlights included the tours with Nikos. I think Madeline and Bren wished they would have had a "Nikos" available in the other countries they visited. Just wanted to say thanks again
to Nicolas and Jane - Jane for getting us set up with the hotels along
our stay in mainland Greece, Nick for his excellent driving and
information along the trip. We were picked up by Nick at the Athens
airport and he helped us get our copious luggage into his Mercedes
(Vito?) van, and we set out on our journey to Delphi, Olympia, and back
to Athens over the next several days. It was a great trip, Nick has a
great selection of cafes and tavernas to choose from along the way, the
hotel selection was great, and we had absolutely no complaints. The
route selections he drove were scenic and largely relaxing (outside of a
few hairpin turns in the mountains that Nick negotiated wonderfully!)
After the usual ice-breaking period, we found Nick to be professional,
but humorous, and we couldn't have found a better choice for the trip.

Hello Nick, At the moment we are still enjoying our 15-day trip in Greece
- June /July 2006. Small minus. Just one thing, we, Belgian people like to start earlier in de morning, for example in Delphi, it was perhaps better to start earlier that day, because there were so many people. But no mind, when we are 09.30 in the morning, we know we have to start our activities and make the link with You, our good Greek friend end guide Nickos. We've never had a family vacation that was as much fun for us as it was for the kids... and such an awesome education for all of us! The mini-bus was perfect for the 5 of us - so nice not to have to drive, or be stuck on one of those big tour buses! Being able to go on smaller roads and places where most of the tourist don't see made us feel like we were seeing the real Greece - and it was great to have someone who loves their country, and its history, to show it to us. He drove and guided us (He knows the history of Ancient and modern Greece very well) around the mainland of Greece - which is all mountains, he booked the best value accommodation A' class hotels and mansions in the country ( which believe me are not easy to find) and he always chose the best restaurants and taverns for lunch and meals with great food and reasonable prices. We could start the day at the times we wanted and spend as long we wanted at each site, we were not rushed as we would have been if we had gone by coach. Nick is a very good photographer and helped us to take the best shots. We came once and we plan to visit again. Totally recommended. thank you so much for a delightful 3 days in the Peloponnesus region
with you. Your history lessons made the sights we saw that much more
interesting. And, eating in authentic Greek restaurants with very good
home made food was terrific. Tom and I can't get enough of those Greek
salads. Too bad our tomatoes don't taste like yours. We loved riding in
the comfort of your Mercedes - you are a careful and considerate
driver. The two nights that we spent in the Pension were wonderful.
Nafplion is such a charming village and the location of the
Pension, overlooking the village, was perfect. Rereading your website
makes me realize how good it is. You know how we talked about reading
about something, then seeing it, then reading it again making it all so

trip. As I told Lew, a trip unlike any other I've had. Due to Nikos,
thank you sir. How many American tourists can say they've stayed in
Arachova? It was one of my favorite evenings. And the drive out along
the coast to Sounion with all the beautiful scenery and all the open-air
seafood restaurants. (Nicolas, I will try to find the article in Gourmet
about this. It would be a good reference to include on your website.) So

Nikolaos, I was looking at our pictures of our brief vacation in Greece and it reminded me about the great time we had, with your assistance. Nick, I can not believe it has taken me
so long to thank you once again for the fabulous time we had in Greece.
As we all gathered together during Christmas, there were many fond
memories of our trip to Greece retold! We went through all our pictures
together and relived the trip once again! Your knowledge of the land and
people, your great suggestions of where to visit, and you as a person,
made our experience a once in a lifetime experience. Our family is
forever tied together with the bond of traveling together and having

best places to visit. He took my wife and I to a wonderful non-tourist
inn outside of Athens and we ate the best lamb and pork on earth. He is

DEAR READER, Nicolas' taxi was most comfortable; his manner of driving always made you feel safe; and his knowledge of the sites we asked him to show us was exceptional (it was even obvious that he had done a lot of extra research before picking us up at our hotel). it's hard to believe that just a week ago we were packing and getting
ready for our long anticipated trip! Last night we were looking over the
first batch of photos we got back, reliving the wonderful days we spend
with you in your beautiful country. I am still amazed at how much we
saw! We three had a truly great time and I am especially glad that
Andrei could experience Greece and its history first hand. We
appreciated your knowledge of the ancient sites and loved listening to
your stories. Your choice of places was exactly what we had been looking
for. (Although I did not realize I was going to be so tired at the end

Well, we are now home and trying to recover from jet lag. We got out of
Athens at 11:30 instead of 12 because the air traffic controllers were
going on strike at 12. That was a close one! The rest of the trip went
very smoothly although Helyn was not well and it was very hard on her.
She went to the doctor ... it is not good news at all. Thank you for all
your help and patience with her health issues. The trip meant a great
deal to them and was the fulfillment of a fifteen year dream for her and
I. We really appreciated your service. I don't think Helen could have
made the trip on a regular coach tour. You are a good driver and
negotiated the traffic and directions with such ease! We would never
even think of driving in Athens after seeing the traffic and the mazes
of streets. The weeklong tour was fabulous. It far exceeded our
expectations and took us to places that we would have missed on our own
or with other organized tours. One of the best parts was the flexibility
we had to stop when we wanted and to go when we were finished. It really
beat having to wait around for fifty other people on a tour bus and I
don't think the trip cost any more than if we had gone on a large tour.
Thank you for all the help and for sharing so many of your favorite
places with us. It was a great trip. We would be glad to recommend you
